5 methods to reduce stress and increase fertility (including hypnotherapy)

Marie Otsuka

The more stress you’re facing in your daily life, the less likely it is that you’ll get pregnant - simple as that. In this blog post, we share 5 methods that you can use to reduce stress and increase fertility, including hypnotherapy. Read on to find out more!

#1: Establish boundaries

Feeling stressed because you get inundated with a barrage of work-related texts and messages even after office hours? You’re not alone. The key here is to establish boundaries, and to commit to not replying or working once you’ve clocked off.

Bear in mind: work is never-ending, and there will always be another problem for you to troubleshoot. So take your time outside work to recharge and relax, so that you can return to work renewed and ready to tackle your day’s challenges.

#2: Schedule fun time

Scheduling time to do your favourite activities during the work week can be a great way to reduce stress, and break up the monotony. For example, if you find Mondays particularly trying, sign up for your favourite activity (pottery? painting?) on Monday evenings, or just arrange for dinner a close friend.

With something to look forward to, you’ll find it easier to keep your chin up at work!

#3: Distinguish between needs and wants

This one’s for all the perfectionists out there who put too much pressure on themselves. Make sure you think about whether the tasks you have on hand are “needs” or “wants”, then allocate your time and energy accordingly.

For example: if you need to pick your mom up from a doctor’s appointment, that’s non-negotiable, unless someone else can step in and help you with this.

On the other hand, if you want to cook dinner every night instead of getting takeout, that’s something that you can compromise on. Sure, it’s nice to be able to sit down to a homecooked meal every night… but if you’re overloaded with work as it is, then it doesn’t make sense for you to impose this particular task on yourself.

#4: Pucker up

Want a quick and easy way of reducing stress? Turn to your partner and give them a smooch! When you kiss someone, the neurotransmitters in your brain release dopamine and serotonin, and your overall stress levels drop.

#5: Try hypnotherapy

If you’re not 100% sure what hypnotherapy is, this is essentially guided hypnosis, where you enter a trance-like state under the guidance of a hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy is said to be effective for those with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, phobias, and more.

How does this work, exactly? Where you’re in hypnosis, you become highly responsive to suggestions, and this allows your hypnotherapist to guide you to identify solutions to your problems. Think of hypnosis as a way of allowing yourself to look inward and become highly attuned to whatever issues you’re facing.
